about Yoga for Life

We are a small community of Yogis… we welcome everyone, it doesn’t matter your level of fitness, flexibility or strength, you will find friendliness, laughter, joy, understanding…

Our classes are challenging, and yet we adapt the poses and give alternatives for different bodies, we have small groups and can always pay attention to everyone…

We are a studio in Doncaster and were the first one in the area when we opened our doors in June 2010, we have plenty of experience…

All of our teachers are fully qualified and understand the deepest meaning of Yoga, so you will have the opportunity to take your own practice to the level of depth that you need or want…

So… don’t feel daunted by Yoga, here’s the best place to get started… Yoga for Life

Meet Julia

have been teaching yoga and meditation for many years, I have to thank my guru, Swami Shantanada (Mataji) for teaching me the deeper meaning of yoga, which has now become not only an important part of my life, but my lifestyle. I have also completed my power yoga teacher training under Duncan Peak. I have an established meditation practise that has helped me understand the thread of not just my mind but of minds in general and now I feel compelled to share my experience with other people, people like you who have no idea where to start and how to go about it. I am a Senior member of the Yoga Teacher Association of Australia and of the Association of Teachers of Meditation of Australia as a Personal Development and Spiritual Guide, and I also have a background in Pedagogy and Psychiatry which has led me to understand the threads of our busy mind.

Meet Abbey

Abbey was introduced to yoga when volunteering overseas. Her time was spent in Indonesia, Thailand and Laos and she was lucky enough to teach yoga on Red Island in East Java. This was just the start of her yoga journey…When returning home to Melbourne, Abbey's passion for yoga grew immensely. She started by continuing her practice at home, to then completing her 200hr Yin and Vinyasa course in Byron Bay, NSW. Abbey is now a Certified Yoga Teacher as well as a Personal Trainer. Abbeys personal training background has given her all the knowledge and skills required to run a well-balanced yoga class. Her Vinyasa (yang) classes are a time for enlightenment and perspective, and her Yin classes are a time for reflection and relaxation. Yang is about changing the world, Yin and about accepting it. Together, these classes create union. Union of the mind, body and soul. Come join Abbey on a journey towards balance!.

Meet Pat

Pat has completed her teacher training at Australian College of Classical Yoga. Having a background in performance she has dipped her toes into yoga many times over her life but it was in coming into her 50s that she discovered that Yoga offered a reconnection with her body and a clearer understanding of how the mind works. She was compelled to look at Teacher training initially to investigate the deeper meaning of yoga. She believes everyone has a right to a joyful and connected life and that yoga offers a pathway to this. Pat is fascinated by the changes it can have on the way life is lived.
